Module 5 A Lesson in a LabLast week, we had some scientific experiments, whose aims are to learn how substances react with each other. We need some ordinary facilities and electrical equipment, such as balance, crucible, tongs and so on. One of the experiments is to find out if iron rusts in airfree water. First, halffill a test tube with water and then boil it to make sure there is no air in the water. Next, put two or three clean nails in the water and add some oil to the water to keep air out of the water. After that, leave the tube for one week. We can draw a conclusion that iron does not rust in airfree water.
