To others, happiness is owning much money, driving a luxury car and living in a large house. To those who have got a severe illness or struggle with an unbearable disability, happiness can only mean a day without suffering or ache. To some junior and senior middle school students, happiness may mean adapting to their classmates and teachers well, accomplishing their study goals, achieving admirable success in every subject and attending an outstanding school or university.I believe it is difficult to define what happiness is because the happiness that everyone feels is different. In some developing countries such as China, a lot of young people, apart from their relatives, enter big cities in a rush from countryside to go after their golden dreams. However, engaging in hard and busy work, suffering separation sorrow, not having adequate places to live in, and having little time for entertainment, do they feel happy? Still hardships often accompany them and life is so uncertain. So some may drink alcohol or do other things for temporary pleasure. In fact, these people are seldom in good spirits. On the contrary, in Tibet, there are many people living in the rough natural environment even without broadcasting. But they are thankful for everything, obey their fate and contribute their life savings to the temple with the greatest wish to see the “living Buddha” in Tibetan Buddhism; they hike across snow mountains and ice rivers to Lhasa for over one thousand kilometers.
