The social lifestyle of different countries form different diet culture and table manner, which is an important part of non language culture. As a foreign language learner, it is necessary to learn the differences between Chinese and Western food culture and table manners. Because it can not only increase the comprehension of the language culture, but also help to improve the success rate of intercultural communication, so as to avoid the misunderstanding caused by improper behavior or manner. The first part of this paper gives a brief summary of Chinese and western table manners.
