学校史研究与校史教育现状调研报告英语教育史研究现状及意义摘要教育史研究方法多种多样，目前跨学科研究是教育史研究的趋势。本文有关英语教育历史现状的研究便是这样的跨学科研究的尝试。通过研究，笔者发现目前国内外对英语教育史的研究并不全面，只是停留在研究教学史的层面。英语语言教育的发展及其推开的政策与当时当代的政治、经济状况有着密切的联系，了解这一联系，可以帮助我们借鉴古今中外的英语教育经验，解读当下的英语教育政策，清楚未来英语教育该的发展方向。最近，关于英语教育改革在中国如火如荼，英语教育在中国是否该弱化，笔者希望通过教育政治学、教育生态学以及新文化史学的理论，深层次地对其进行探讨，并希望为未来英语从业教师树立信念和信心。关键词英语教育史跨学科研究方法中图分类号：g642文献标识码：aresearchstatusandsignificanceofenglisheducationalhistory——thepast，presentandfutureofenglishxieying（chongqinguniversityofartsandsciences，chongqing402160）abstractinterdisciplinarystudiesisthetrendofeducationalhistorythoughthereareamountofeducationalresearchmethods.andthestudiestheenglisheducationalhistoryisatrialandexplorationofthisinterdisciplinarystudies.thewriterfoundthatthestudiesofenglisheducationalhistorywerenotcomprehensivebystudyingbothdomesticandaboardresearchstatus，anditwasonlyateachingmethodresearch.theopenpolicyofenglisheducationdevelopmenthascloseconnectionwithcontemporarypolicyandeconomicstatus.understandingthisconnectionwillhelpustolearntheenglisheducationexperiencefromtheancientandmoderninchinaandabroad，readthechangeofpresente第1页共6页nglisheducationpolicyandforecasttheprospectivetendencyoffutureenglisheducation.atpresent，theenglisheducationreformisalreadyintheworks.whetherornotweakeningtheenglisheducationinchina，thewriterdiscussesthisbasedonthetheoriesofeducationalpolitics，ecologyofeducationandnewculturehistory.andthewriteralsohopestoestablishfaithandconfidenceforthefutureenglishteachers.keywordsenglisheducationalhistory；interdisciplinary；researchmethods英国17世纪文艺复兴时期的伟大哲学家，弗兰西斯.培根（francisbacon，1561-1626）在1653年发表的《培根随笔》一书中有篇重要的文章《论读书》曾经这样说过“读史使人明智。”（historiesmakesmenwise）可见历史的重要性。但国内国外在英语教育历史的研究似乎一直停留在史料的整理，或者只是在为外语教学法提供一些理论依据，没有真正从史学的角度来研究英语教育史，更不清楚研究英语教育史的重要性。1国内外研究的现状在国外，对英语教育研究最具影响的应该是爱丁堡大学语言学系高级讲师a.p.h豪厄特在1984年出版的英语语言教学史（ahistoryofenglishlanguageteaching）中详细叙述了英语教学的整个发展过程，该书从文艺复兴时期英语成为世界语言开始，一直讲到当代英语教学。a.p.h豪厄特站在客观的角度对英语语言教学史做客观的记叙式的描述，并没有阐述英语教育兴起与当时政治的变化之间的联系。在书中作者还介绍了作为第二语言的英语教学的起源，语言翻译教学法、自然/直接教学法等的兴起。其实这些英语教学的发展都与复杂的欧洲政治变化有关。16世纪开始，英语取代拉丁语在书面语和口语中担任领导地位与英帝国的兴起有着复杂而必然的联系。遗憾的是，a.p.h豪厄特的《英语语言教学史》一书并未能就此有任何论述。在国内，长春工业大学李旭明教授在她的讲座《国外现代英语教学的历史发展》中对国外现代外语教学法思想的演变进行了详细论述，在李教授的讲座中提到了对外英语教学的发展，第2页共6页比a.p.h豪厄特的研究更进一步提到了在英国、美国以及欧洲其他国家对外英语教学。她指出在19世纪末以前古典语法教学时期，外语教学思想还只停留在解决为什么教外语的问题上，在那个时期外语是一种文化素养，其目的是学习外国文化；从19世纪末到20世纪40年代进入...
