The inhibitory effect was evaluated by measuring the effect of cinnamaldehyde dose and pH value as well as the effect of different treatment times on the morphology of phytophthora colonies. The results showed that cinnamaldehyde can significantly inhibit the growth of pepper phytophthora. With the increase of cinnamaldehyde dose, the inhibitory effect gradually strengthened, and pH value also had a certain effect on its inhibitory effect. Shorter treatment times can achieve better inhibitory effect. Further mechanistic studies found that cinnamaldehyde regulates the intracellular Ca2+ concentration of phytophthora cells, thereby affecting the expression of related genes and achieving its inhibitory effect.Keywords: Ca2+ signal, cinnamaldehyde, pepper phytophthora, growth inhibition effect.
