The IPIP-50 inventory measures the five personality dimensions namely, extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability, and openness to experience. However, in certain studies, researchers often require a shorter version of the IPIP that can be administered more quickly without compromising reliability. To address this, the IPIP-7 was developed as a brief version of the IPIP-50 in 2024, comprising seven items that measure the five factors of personality.Problem:Although the IPIP-7 has proven to be an effective and time-efficient measure of the FFM, there have been suggestions that some of the items may require significant revisions. Furthermore, there is a need to evaluate the psychometric properties of the IPIP-7, assess its cross-cultural validity and examine the feasibility of developing a computer-adaptive version. Objective:The aim of this study is to undertake a preliminary revision of the IPIP-7 factor personality scale, test its psychometric properties and assess its cross-cultural validity. Method:The preliminary revision of the IPIP-7 will comprise of three main stages. First, a comprehensive review of the literature will be undertaken to identify potential areas of improvement in the existing items. Second, a panel of experts in personality psychology and assessment will be consulted to evaluate the revised items and provide feedback. Third, data will be collected from a diverse sample of individuals across multiple cultures to assess the reliability and validity of the revised version of the IPIP-7. The feasibility of developing a computer-adaptive version will also be explored.精品文档---下载后可任意编辑Expected Outcomes:The expected outcomes of this study are a revised version of the IPIP-7 that retains its brevity while addressing issues with some of the items. Additionally, the psychometric properties of the revised IPIP-7 will be evaluated to provide evidence for its validity and reliability. Cross-cultural differences will be examined to determine if the IPIP-7 can be used across diverse populations. Finally, the study will examine the feasibility of developing a computer-adaptive version of the IPIP-7.Significance:The results of this study will contribute to the continuous refinement of the IPIP-7 factor personality scale, providing researchers and practitioners with a more valid and reliable measure of the FFM that is easier and quicker to administer. Additionally, the study will evaluate the cross-cultural validity of the IPIP-7, thereby broadening its applicability to diverse populations and enhancing its usefulness for global research and assessment.
