To overcome these limitations, researchers have attempted to modify Nafion membrane using various approaches, including chemical modification, physical modification, and hybrid modification. This preliminary study aims to investigate the modification of Nafion membrane using different approaches and evaluate its potential as a proton exchange membrane.Objectives:The main objectives of this study are as follows:1. To modify Nafion membrane using chemical, physical, and hybrid approaches.2. To characterize the modified Nafion membranes using various techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).3. To evaluate the proton conductivity, water uptake, and mechanical stability of the modified Nafion membranes.4. To assess the performance of the modified Nafion membranes as proton exchange membranes in a single-cell fuel cell.Methodology:The following methodology will be adopted to achieve the objectives of the study:1.
