First, Zn(OH)2 nanosheets were prepared by a hydrothermal method, and then pure ZnSe nanocrystalline powder was synthesized by reducing Zn(OH)2 with hydrogen sulfide gas in a dehydrated environment. The prepared ZnSe nanocrystalline powder was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and its dispersibility in PMMA matrix was studied. The experimental results show that the prepared ZnSe nanocrystalline powder has good dispersibility and stability, and can be effectively compatible with PMMA matrix to prepare high-performance nanocomposites.Keywords: ZnSe nanocrystalline powder; two-step method; nanocomposites; dispersibility
