The editing principles used in the Book of Documents: What were the principles and criteria used in selecting and organizing the documents that were included in the Book of Documents? How was the text structured?Methodology:This study will use a combination of textual analysis, historical research, and comparative studies to examine the historiography of the Book of Documents. Sources will include the original text of the Book of Documents, as well as commentary and analyses by other scholars. The methodology will be both quantitative and qualitative, with special attention given to identifying patterns and themes in the text.Expected Outcomes:This study will contribute to a better understanding of the historiography of the Book of Documents, shedding light on the authorship, compilation, and editing principles of this significant historical text. The findings will also help to clarify some of the more controversial issues surrounding the Book of Documents, such as the use of myth and legend, and will provide insights into the broader historical, social, and cultural contexts of the Zhou Dynasty. Ultimately, this study will help to enrich our understanding of ancient Chinese history and culture.
