Therefore, it's necessary to have a precise, scientific, and practical translation of the names of Chinese medical classics in English.Objectives:The primary objective of this research is to study the English translation of names of classical Chinese medical texts, focusing on its transliteration and translation methods. Specifically, this study aims to:1. Investigate the existing English translations of names of classical Chinese medical texts and their transliteration and translation methods;2. Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of these existing translations from different perspectives, including semantic accuracy, readability, and cultural adaptation;3. Propose practical guidelines for translating names of classical Chinese medical texts into English, taking into consideration linguistic and cultural differences between Chinese and English.Methodology:This research will adopt a literature review as its primary research method. Relevant literature, including English translations of names of classical Chinese medical texts, will be collected and analyzed. A comparative analysis will be conducted to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of different transliteration and translation methods. Guidelines for translating Chinese medical text names into English will be proposed based on the literature review and analysis.Expected Outcomes:This research will contribute to the improvement of translation quality and accuracy of classical Chinese medical texts in English. The proposed guidelines will provide a practical reference for translators and practitioners in the field of Chinese medicine. Moreover, this research will bridge the linguistic and cultural gap between Chinese medicine and the international community, promoting the promotion and development of Chinese medicine globally.
