Maoyuangen is the main growing part of Danshen, which has rich diterpenoid compounds. The aim of this study is to optimize the culture conditions of Danshen maoyuangen and investigate the effects of exogenous hormones on its secondary metabolism. Different culture media, growth regulators and light cycle conditions were used to optimize the culture conditions of Danshen maoyuangen, and the differences in growth activity and secondary metabolite content were compared.
