The polysaccharide content, molecular weight, glycosidic bond structure and immunomodulatory activity of the deep-fermented polysaccharides of Tremella fuciformis were studied under the influence of different concentrations of TCM extracts. Five different TCM extracts were tested and a significant difference in their influence on Tremella fuciformis polysaccharides was observed. The results showed that extracts of Bupleurum chinense, Codonopsis pilosula, and Lindera aggregata could improve the content and molecular weight of polysaccharides in Tremella fuciformis and partially alter the glycosidic bond structure and immunomodulatory activity of polysaccharides. However, the effects of extracts of Astragalus membranaceus and Gastrodia elata were not significant. This study provides experimental evidence for the use of TCM extracts to enhance the content and immunomodulatory activity of polysaccharides from Tremella fuciformis.Keywords:Tremella fuciformis; Deep fermentation; Polysaccharides; Traditional Chinese medicine extracts; Immunomodulatory activity
