As a result, English learning has become increasingly important for today's students. Especially for students in graduate school, English proficiency is crucial for their academic and professional success. However, many non-English major students face difficulties in English learning due to various reasons, such as insufficient English learning foundation, different learning styles, and lack of appropriate learning strategies. Therefore, this study aims to explore the English learning motivation, concept, and strategies of non-English major students in graduate school in China.Research Questions:1. What are the motivations for the non-English major students in graduate school to learn English?2. What are the perceptions of the non-English major students in graduate school towards English learning?3. What are the English learning strategies used by non-English major students in graduate school to improve their English proficiency?Research Methodology:This study will be conducted using a mixed-methods approach. A quantitative survey will be conducted to investigate the motivation and perception of non-English major students towards English learning. The survey will be distributed to a sample of 300 non-English major students in graduate school in China. Additionally, qualitative interviews will be conducted with a subset of the sample to explore the English learning strategies used by non-English major students.Expected Outcomes:This study will provide insights into the English learning motivation, concept, and strategies of non-English major students in graduate school in China. The findings are expected to contribute to the understanding of the challenges faced by non-English major students and provide guidance for English language educators to develop appropriate teaching strategies and resources.
