In China, the traditional way of teaching English mainly focused on grammar, reading, and writing skills. However, in recent years, the importance of Oral English Teaching has been increasingly highlighted in the high school English curriculum. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effectiveness of Oral English Teaching in high school English education in China.Research Questions:1. What is the current status of Oral English Teaching in high school English education in China?2. How can Oral English Teaching be effectively incorporated into the high school English curriculum?3. What are the challenges and opportunities faced by high school students in Oral English Teaching? Literature Review:The review of literature will be divided into three main sections: Oral English Teaching, high school English education in China, and issues and challenges in Oral English Teaching. The literature will primarily be sourced from academic papers, textbooks, and online resources related to the topic.Methodology:This study will use qualitative research methods, including document analysis and semi-structured interviews to collect data from high school English teachers and students. The sample size will be limited to fifteen high school English teachers and thirty students from three different high schools in China.Data Analysis:An inductive approach will be applied in the data analysis of the data collected from the interviews to determine the themes and patterns. The themes will be identified, then coded, categorized, and interpreted.Conclusion:The results of this study will provide valuable insights into the current status of Oral English Teaching in high school English education in China, highlight the challenges and opportunities in Oral English Teaching, and offer suggestions on how to enhance the Oral English Teaching in the high school English curriculum.
