In the ecosystem where the two coexist, H. pluvialis often shows a clear allelopathic effect on C. vulgaris. This study aims to investigate the allelopathic effect of H. pluvialis on C. vulgaris and its response to CO2 enrichment. The co-cultivation method was used to determine the allelopathic effect of C. vulgaris on H. pluvialis at different CO2 concentrations, and the effects of different CO2 concentrations on the growth of the two microalgae were analyzed. The results showed that H. pluvialis had a significant allelopathic effect on C. vulgaris, especially at higher CO2 concentrations. In addition, CO2 enrichment significantly increased the growth rate and biomass accumulation of the two microalgae, but the allelopathic effect of H. pluvialis on C. vulgaris still existed.【Keywords】Chlorella vulgaris; Haematococcus pluvialis; allelopathic effect; CO2 enrichment
