The article first introduces the development of IoT and its technological trends and then uses two case study which elaborate the integration of IoT with both transportation sector and the electricity industry to demonstrates the significance of development of IoT. At last, we discuss the prospects for the development of IoT in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan.
