If we talk about the ability someone has now , we use “can”. If we talk about the ability someone had in the past, we usually use “could”.(2) Ask students: If we talk about the ability in the future, what modal verbs do we use ?( will, shall, be able to )(3) Ask students to make sentences using these words to talk about ability.
