Pairwork: How many names of animals do you know in Enghlish? Write a list of these animals. You have one minute. Compare your list with your partner’s and then teacher teach new words about animal to Ss.(tiger, panda, monkey, cat, dog, cow, hen, cock, bird, mouse, sheep, deer, goat, fish, bee, elephant, wolf, giraffe, kangaroo, antelope, hippo) 2.Ask Ss to answer some questions in the books and list reasons for animals’ endangerment.When animals’ habitat is destroyed or changed, they become endangered.If new species arrive and if a species is overused/ hunted, …If animal get disease, …If animals was polluted by man-made waste/ rubbish, … 3. Show some pictures of endangered animals in the world. 3.Groupwork: choose an endangered animal you like very much. Where does it live? Do you think this animal needs to live? One student acts as a reporter, the other one acts as an animal in the zoo. 2. Pairwork: let Ss discuss the questions---do you think that it is bad or good for animals to live in the zoo? 3. Groupwork: Imagine you are an animal. Do not tell your group which animal you are. They can ask you twenty questions to find out. You can only answer yes or no. The person who quesses correctly has the next turn. For example: have you got a tail?
