Firstly, the surface modification method was used to modify the montmorillonite to make its surface hydrophilic and better combined with Fe3O4 particles. Then, the modified montmorillonite was mixed with Fe3O4 particles to prepare the composite material. Finally, the prepared composite material was applied to the synthesis of neotame-calcium chelates to improve the reaction yield. The results showed that the modified montmorillonite can be fully combined with Fe3O4 particles to form a composite material with an increased specific surface area, which has a certain promotion effect on the synthesis of neotame-calcium chelates.Keywords: montmorillonite, Fe3O4, composite material, surface modification, neotame-calcium chelates
