Through systematic collection and analysis of peat columns near Island Town, we obtained a total of 18 samples and measured indicators such as total organic carbon, δ13C, and δ15N. With these indicators, we can analyze the changes in vegetation succession, precipitation and temperature in the northern part of Leizhou Peninsula.The results show that the climate and environment in the northern part of Leizhou Peninsula have changed significantly since MIS-3a, especially during the Little Ice Age (LIA). During the LIA, precipitation significantly decreased, temperature dropped, vegetation became scarce, and even desertification occurred. In modern times, with the warming climate, precipitation has increased, and vegetation has recovered.In addition, we found clear remnants of human activity in the samples, such as charcoal and weed pollen, which may be traces of human activity in different historical periods. Therefore, it also provides a reference value for the study of regional historical culture.Keywords: Leizhou Peninsula; MIS-3a; peat record; climate and environmental changes.
