OFDM systems are widely adopted in modern wireless communication systems due to their spectrum efficiency, robustness to multipath fading and high data rate capability. However, OFDM systems require accurate synchronization to ensure reliable data transmission. The synchronizer module is the key component in an OFDM system that performs time and frequency synchronization functions. In this report, we present the mid-term progress of designing an OFDM synchronizer module, including the analysis of its main functions, the detailed design of the hardware architecture and circuit components, and the expected outcomes and applications of the developed design. 【Function Analysis】 The main functions of the OFDM synchronizer module include CP stripping, autocorrelation, FFT calculation, frequency error estimation, and phase error estimation. 1. CP Stripping: the CP comprises the last N samples of an OFDM symbol that are used to reduce the intersymbol interference(ISI) caused by multipath fading.
