The basic principles and components of the servo system are introduced, and the impact of variable load in the servo system and its solutions are discussed. Then, the PDF strategy is introduced, and its detailed description and analysis are given. Next, by establishing the mathematical model of the variable load servo system and using MATLAB/Simulink simulation, the effect of PID controller and PDF controller in controlling the variable load servo system is compared. The simulation results show that the PDF controller can improve the stability and robustness of the system while reducing the displacement error and controller oscillation. Finally, using DSP chip to implement the hardware design of PDF controller system, and the performance of PDF controller in variable load servo system is verified through experiments.Key words: PDF strategy; variable load servo system; control simulation; hardware implementation.
