English academic writing is a particularly demanding genre, as it requires not only linguistic fluency, but also a sound understanding of the conventions, applications, and ethics of the scholarly discourse. In this project, we propose to compare the writing characteristics and ethical implications of English academic papers written by expert authors and novice authors.Research questions1. What are the writing characteristics and patterns of English academic papers written by expert authors and novice authors?2. What are the differences in the ethical implications of the writing practices of expert authors and novice authors in English academic papers?3. What are the ethical considerations that need to be taken into account in the writing of English academic papers?MethodologyWe will conduct a qualitative analysis of a corpus of English academic papers produced by both expert and novice authors. We will use two key criteria to select the participants in the study. First, we will select expert authors who have published at least five English academic papers in reputable international journals. Second, we will select novice authors who are currently enrolled in graduate studies and have written at least one English academic paper.
