However, in the English classrooms of vocational colleges, the phenomenon of student silence is becoming more common, seriously affecting the teaching effect of English courses. This paper aims to explore appropriate solutions to the problem of student silence in English classrooms of vocational colleges through studying the current situation and reasons of student silence in English majors of vocational colleges.This paper adopts the questionnaire survey method and field interview method. Through the investigation of English majors in a vocational college and individual in-depth interviews, the specific reasons for student silence, such as lack of confidence, insufficient vocabulary, and unfamiliar with English grammar were found. By analyzing the investigation data, various solutions were proposed, including strengthening English language supporting courses, adjusting the evaluation method, creating a good English learning atmosphere and so 精品文档---下载后可任意编辑on.
