Therefore, this study aims to investigate the usage patterns and application of “Find” in Chinese college students’ English writing.Research Questions:1. What are the commonly used sentence patterns with “Find” in Chinese college students’ English writing?2. What are the different contexts in which “Find” is used by Chinese college students in their English writing?3. How can the findings of this research help Chinese college students improve their English writing skills?Methodology:The research will be based on a corpus of English writing samples collected from Chinese college students. The corpus will consist of around 50,000 words, extracted from academic essays, reports, and other formal written assignments. The data analysis will be carried out using the software AntConc and Excel. The corpus software provides a powerful tool for analyzing the frequency and distribution of words and sentence patterns.Expected Outcomes:The results of this study will help to identify the most commonly used sentence patterns and contexts for the verb “Find” in English writing produced by Chinese college students.
