Compared to the students in regular colleges and universities, the students in vocational colleges and technical schools are facing more difficulties due to the limited teaching resources and the lack of school support. Therefore, it is important to study the self-directed learning (SDL) strategies and attitudes of Chinese art students in different types of institutions so that appropriate interventions can be implemented to enhance their English learning outcomes. This research proposal aims to explore the SDL perspectives of Chinese vocational college and regular university art students in English learning, assess their self-efficacy in English learning, and investigate the influencing factors of their autonomous learning attitudes.Research Questions1.
