Currently, there is no complete cure for cataracts, so prevention and treatment of cataracts have become a hot research topic. The aim of this study is to establish a middle wavelength ultraviolet radiation (UVB) induced cataract model in SD rats and explore its mechanism.SD rats were used as the model, and were divided into control group and experimental group. The experimental group received UVB radiation, while the control group did not. The establishment of the model was evaluated by measuring the levels of malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) activity in rat eye tissues.
