Taking the names and effects of Chinese herbal formulae as an example, this article analyzes the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine terms and their translatability and limitations in the translation process. At the same time, this article also explores the difficulties that readers face in understanding and accepting traditional Chinese medicine terms, and proposes corresponding translation strategies and suggestions to promote the dissemination and communication of traditional Chinese medicine culture.Keywords: traditional Chinese medicine terms; translatability limitations; reader considerations; translation strategies
