We analyzed the physical and chemical properties of the soil, soil enzyme activity, and microbial quantity using ecological and microbiological methods to compare the characteristics of different soil biology types, numbers, and ecological functions at different succession stages. The result shows that with the progress of the copper tailings succession process, the number of soil microorganisms gradually increases, the bacterial community structure gradually becomes complex, and the enzymatic activity and soil organic matter content also show a gradually increasing trend. These changes are closely related to soil properties, vegetation types, and climate conditions. The research results can provide theoretical basis and technical support for the ecological restoration of copper tailings.Keywords: Copper tailings; Primary succession; Soil biology; Community structure; Functional succession.
