The actuator stem mo-ves as soon as the diaphragm forceexceeds the counterforces of thesprings. There are two operationalmodes depending on the arrangementof the spring package:1. Stem extends by air failure2. Stem retracts by air failureThe control valve can be opened orclosed with a rising signal.
