Since the 1970s, an increasing number of researchers have realized the importance of affective factors to language learning. It has a great effect on learners’ academic performance and learning effects. As one of the main groups of young English learners, college students have attracted much attention from research scholars. Up to now, many researches have shown that non-English majors generally had different levels of English learning anxiety. This paper attempts to get to know the situation of English learning anxiety of non-English majors in ZHBIT, and tries to analyze the causes of students’ English learning anxiety, and gives some strategies and suggestions to alleviate students’ anxiety, so that students can improve their English. Furthermore, the author hopes that it can bring some inspirations to English classroom teaching.Through reviewing a certain number of literature materials, the author firstly summarizes the research status of foreign language learning anxiety at home and abroad, then summarizes the definition and classification of foreign language anxiety. A total of 115 non-English majors in our school were investigated for their English learning anxiety through online questionnaires.
