But that's exactly where author / illustrator / creator of the book and television show Rolie Polie Olie William Joyce and director Chris Wedge were seven years ago when they decided to make a movie about Robots. I got the chance to visit William Joyce at his very creative and unique office in Shreveport, Louisiana. We discussed the opening of his latest movie, Robots, which opens on March 11 and his fascinating life. Kid Reporter Ben met wrilliam Joyce, creator of Robots.TFK: Can you tell me a little bit about your new movie, Robots?Joyce: Robots is an animated motion picture about a world entirely made of mechanical people and things. TFK: How have you been involved in the making of the movie?Joyce: The director, Chris Wedge, and I decided we wanted to do a robot movie seven years ago. We liked robots and thought they were fun and cool and that a movie just about them could be really exciting.TFK: What character in Robots is most like you?Joyce: I think that I'm a little bit like Mr Bigweld the guy who made up the whole city because I had to make up and invent so much of what was in the movie and in this world.
