Rome I is by no means a verbatim copy of Rome Convention, indeed, the ing of several articles has been rephrased or clarified, and a number of important anges have been implemented. These anges include, inter alia: an adjustment to the principle of party autonomy; a revision of the oice of law rules regarding the applicable law in the absence of oice; new provisions on transports of carriage and insurance; a rephrasing of the so-called “mandatory rules〞 of law and Strengthening the rights protection of weaker party.
