The traffic light control system has gradually become the most important part of the urban traffic monitors and command system. At the present stage, however, several problems abound in the traffic light control system.To solve these problems, this paper adds north-south and east-west Driving lamps to the traditional intersection traffic lights to control traffic. To realize the control demands above, the paper firstly illustrates the characteristics application structure and principles of the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). Then the author introduces the specific characteristics and directions of the soft war S7-200 STEP7-Micro/WIN3.2, and the realization of the design of driving lamps with the software.
