Firstly, the concept of thermal grinding machine and the functions and components of the main spindle are introduced. Then, the purpose and function of axial support of the main spindle in thermal grinding machine is analyzed, and the common forms of axial support are classified and evaluated. Based on the working principle and supporting characteristics of bearings, this paper proposes an axial support scheme based on bidirectional thrust bearings, and carries out theoretical analysis and simulation verification. Finally, the scheme is optimized and improved, and the future development direction of axial support of main spindle in thermal grinding machine is also prospected.【Keywords】Thermal grinding machine; main spindle; axial support; bearing; bidirectional thrust bearing
