Bi4MO8Br (M=V, Nb) photocatalysts were prepared by hydrothermal method and subsequent processing steps. The preliminary performance test was carried out by applying it to the degradation experiment of methylene blue. The results showed that Bi4NbO8Br photocatalyst had a strong degradation effect on methylene blue. Under UV irradiation, after 30 minutes of treatment, the removal rate reached 97%, while the degradation effect of Bi4VO8Br photocatalyst was relatively weak, and the removal rate was only about 70%. Therefore, this study believes that Bi4NbO8Br photocatalyst has good degradation performance of organic pollutants in water and is a potential photocatalyst.Key words: Bi4MO8Br; organic pollutants in water; photocatalyst; preparation; degradation.
