This paper mainly introduces the application of MLPA technology in the diagnosis of single gene inherited diseases DMD/BMD (Duchenne muscular dystrophy/Becker muscular dystrophy)and SMA (spinal muscular atrophy).Firstly, the basic concepts, etiology and clinical features of DMD/BMD and SMA were introduced, and the limitations and shortcomings of traditional PCR technology in detecting DMD/BMD and SMA genes were analyzed. Then, MLPA technology was introduced in detail, including its characteristics and principles, and its application in the diagnosis of DMD/BMD and SMA genes was explained.
