Tissue specimens from 32 female patients with proliferative and secretory endometrial polyps were subjected to histological and immunohistochemical analysis. The results showed that the expression of Caspase-8 was low in both proliferative and secretory endometrial polyps. In addition, there was no significant difference in Caspase-8 expression among different age groups.The findings indicate that Caspase-8 expression is suppressed in proliferative and secretory endometrial polyps, and may play a role in the occurrence and development of endometrial polyps. Therefore, Caspase-8 could be a potential therapeutic target and prognostic marker for endometrial polyps.Keywords: Caspase-8; proliferative; secretory; endometrial polyps; immunohistochemistry.
