This study aims to explore the effects of smooth cordgrass on the nitrogen cycle of the salt marsh ecosystem in Shanghai Chongming Dongtan, in order to provide scientific basis for the management and conservation of river estuary wetlands. This study will use a variety of methods including field surveys, laboratory analysis, etc., to investigate the growth of smooth cordgrass, soil physicochemical properties, microbial distribution, plant community diversity, nitrogen transformation processes, and other aspects. The expected results are to have an in-depth understanding of the impacts of smooth cordgrass invasion on nitrogen fixation, transformation, and release in the river estuary wetland ecosystem, and to provide theoretical support and practical suggestions for the maintenance and management of this ecosystem.Keywords: Smooth cordgrass; River estuary salt marsh wetland; Nitrogen cycle; Ecosystem.
