Firstly, the montmorillonite was characterized, and the morphology, crystal structure, and surface chemical properties were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction. Then, the montmorillonite was converted into nanoscale zero-valent iron/montmorillonite composite material by adding different proportions of reducing agent NaBH4.
