Firstly, the undoped titanium dioxide nanoparticles were prepared by hydrothermal method, and then the non-metallic iodine and rare earth element cerium were doped into titanium dioxide to prepare non-metallic iodine and rare earth element cerium doped titanium dioxide photocatalytic materials. Then, the prepared materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. Finally, the photocatalytic activity of the materials was evaluated by methanol degradation reaction.Keywords: non-metallic iodine, rare earth element cerium, titanium dioxide, photocatalytic activity.
