Through questionnaire surveys and experimental research methods, the study analyzed and researched the teaching of gymnastics in colleges of education.The results showed that teaching gymnastics in colleges of education has great potential and advantages, and can effectively improve students' physical fitness and comprehensive abilities. At the same time, the study also found some problems and deficiencies in the teaching of gymnastics, such as teaching content, teaching methods, and teaching effects, which need to be improved and perfected.Based on this, the study puts forward some suggestions and methods to improve the teaching of gymnastics, including the setting of teaching content, the change of teaching methods, and the creation of classroom atmosphere, etc., in order to better promote students' development and growth.Keywords: teaching gymnastics; comprehensive ability; colleges of education.
