He was born in 1895. 他诞生于 1895 年。 be born 意为“诞生“，背面加介词短语“in 1895“. 这实际上是被动语态，构造为“be+动词的过去分词“表达“主语被....“在句中，人是被生出的，因此用被动态，born 原形是 bear，意为产生、生育。 2. start doing sth. Start to do sth. Begin to do sth 都可以表达开头做某事。 start 意为“开头“后接名词，动名词或动词不定式。 eg: The old men started singing / to sing. 老人们开头唱歌。 They started the party with dancing. 他们以跳舞来开头这个晚会。 此外，start 尚有“开动、发动、开办、动身“等词义。 eg: My father couldnt start the car. 我父亲起动不了那车。 start 与 begin 同义，都是“开头“，但在表达“开动、发动、开办、动身“等词意讲时，start 不能用 begin. 3. too...to... 太...而不能 eg: a. The boy is too young to dress himself. 这个男孩太小了，还不能自己穿衣服。 b. This house is too big to clean in one day. 这幢房子太大了，一天内打扫不完。
