It is important that each paragraph develop one specific idea and no more
If a paragraph develops more than one idea, it fails to have unity
If it does not develop an idea at all, it does not fulfill its function
• Every paragraph should have a reason for existing
No paragraph should be in writing just because the writer thought it was time to indent again
A good writer is always able to give a specific reason for each paragraph in his writing
