• 她的女儿安娜 · 贾维斯于 1907 年开始举办活动，申请将母亲节成为一个法定节日
• 1913 年，美国国会确定将每年 5 月的第二个星期日作为法定的母亲节，并规定这一天家家户户都要悬挂国旗，表达对母亲的尊敬
