FlyinglikethegeeseIamgladtostandhereandtalkaboutmytopic:Flyinglikethegeese.Nowthetitle“flying”isnottherealdefinitionasthebirdsfly.Thatmeans“learntoflylikethegeese,learnabouttheirgroupworksandcommunity”.Especiallytoourstudents,they’reyoung,theyneedtolearnmorelifeskillsandknowledgeinthefuture.Buthowtolearnthoseskillsandadapttothesociety?Theyneedtoknowoneoftheimportantskillsisthesenseofcommunity.JustlikethespiritofthegeeseFlyinginVformation.Inautumn,whenyouseegeeseheadingsouthforthewinter,flyingalonein“V”formation,youmightconsiderwhythereasontheyflythatway.Byflyinginthisformation,thewholeflockaddsatleast71%greaterflyingrangethanifeachbirdflewonitsown.Whentheheadgoosegetstired,anothergoosefliesaheadinstead,andifonegoosefallsoutoftheteam,otherscangetitbackintothisteambytheflyingpowerfulinfront.Finally,theimportantthingisthattheyworkingroupsandprotecteachother.Wealsoteachstudentsusethesenseofcommunityinourteachingmethodinclass.Thereisanothernamemeans:groupworks.Theactivitiescanhelpstudentslearnmanythingsbycooperatingwiththeirpeers,theyneedtocommunicateanddiscusssolutions.Ontheotherhand,groupworksneedcommunity.Itisquiteoftenthatoneisnotabletocarryoutajobbyitself.Heneedsmorepeopletocompleteittogether.Theycanlearntobemoretolerantandsolvetheirdifferencesorconflictspeacefullyiftheytrytoachievethecommongoaloftheteam.Soourstudentsneedthesenseofthecommunity.Theygetthespiritmore,theywillbesuccessfulintheirworks.Iftheyhaveasmuchsenseasagoose,wewillstayinthelinewiththosewhoareheadinginthesamedirectionasweareandwewillstandbyeachotherlikethem.Atlastbutnotleast,wemustremember“Acommondangercausescommonaction”!
