M5U1 Word power Thoughts on the design:本单元中心话题为“与人相处”,主要探讨友谊与朋友。教材中的第一板块Welcome to the unit 要求学生能讨论自己的朋友观与择友标准,以引入 Reading 板块的教学。但要让学生充分展开讨论,他们必须具备一定量关于人的品格和个性方面的词汇,因此,笔者调整了教材中的教学顺序,把 Word power 板块 Adjectives to describe personality 的内容提前至第一课时来上,为整个单元的教学作好铺垫。本课词汇教学的设计理念是寓教于乐,通过设计各种学生感兴趣的课堂活动来调动学生参与的积极性,使词汇教学不再枯燥乏味。学生在参与各种活动的过程中,联系旧知,掌握新知,顺利掌握一定量的目标词汇并能正确加以运用。Teaching aims:The students will be able to master a number of words related to Personality by involving themselves in different activities.Teaching important points and difficult points:to master a number of words related to PersonalityTeaching procedures:Step 1 lead in (PPT 4-7)1.Students and teacher play a guessing game: Who is he/she?Students are asked to guess who the teacher is through the given description of the teacher.2.
