Modern automotive company R&D activities should focus on total life cycle product quality planning and management, especially, in the early design stage, should take quality requirements into consideration in the design process. With the design philosophy of concurrent engineering and modular design, the paper utilizes the open and close loop design chain to perform development quality control and optimization, and use design record to achieve vehicle product design and development. It explains product development quality management with the case of bumper system.
