1 Significance of Studies of Stylistics Abstract  Stylistics is the study and interpretation of texts from a linguistic perspective.In this thesis, I have attempted to make an explaination about how significance of studies of stylistics in our English learning. The thesis is divided into three parts. In first part, I relate what is stylistics. In second part, I list several points to prove how significance of studies of stylistics. In third part, I claim that since stylistics is so important we should make full use of it.  Through this article, I study the meaning of stylistics and significance of it. So if we want to learn English well, we should learn something about stylistics .I hope you should know more about stylistics through this article. Key words: study significance stylistics meaning English learning. 1. Introduction Stylistics first came from ancient rhetoric, from the rhetoric of Aristotle. The founder of modern stylistics is French stylistician BaLi who is Saussure‟s student. According to Tan Qingsong and Su 2 Lianyan(英语文体学在大学英语教学中的应用), the master works of stylistics include Leach‟s < English poetry of Linguistics>(1969),Leach&Short‟s < The Stylistics in novels>(1981),Short‟s < Language discusses about Poetry, drama and the novel>and so on.
