However, this reform may cause a backlash effect, that is, students' interest and motivation for English learning may decrease, and test scores may be affected. Taking Tianjin Sports School as an example, this paper explores the students' cognitive, attitudes and impacts on the reform of English assessment methods through questionnaire survey and field interviews, and analyzes the actual effects and existing problems after the reform. The results show that students still have relatively high level of unknown and uncertainty about the reform of English assessment methods. Many students believe that such reforms to improve their English level is not great, and will also reduce their interest in learning. However, some students clearly stated that this reform is very helpful for improving their practical application ability.
